there is now an Arclight movie theater
close to where I went to high school
last week I saw a boy there
infinity walking at the foot of an escalator
where the stairs slide together and disappear
he wasn't even wearing shoes
just his socks against the sharp ridges
his basketball shorts flapping to the rhythm
of the wrong direction
I, too, use a treadmill
to keep myself from hitting the wall
and breaking my nose
in my fierce path forward
